How We Started
This all started with a simple little garden in the backyard. A couple of squash, tomatoes and such. The taste of those squash had no comparison to what was in the store. So the next year our little garden expanded to include more things like carrots, melons, and of course squash. The honeydew was so sweet it was like candy…who knew honeydew could have so much flavour! Until the squirrels found them and hubby was so mad to lose those melons he bought a trap and started relocating them. The carrots we shared with family, and everyone agreed they were amazing – sweet and full of flavour.
It was with this kind of discovery and reactions that the desire to continue to grow our own produce has grown year after year. You won’t find produce in the store with so much flavour it is a joy to eat your veggies every day!
Today with Permaculture
All our reading eventually lead us to the idea of permaculture, and taking Geoff Lawton’s Permaculture Design Course online in 2013.
In 2015 we relocated to a half acre piece of land which has seen more care from weeds and rabbits then humans. We now are using our knowledge and observations to design a system with “harmonious integration of landscape and people”, which is the permaculture way.
We’re happy you’ve joined us in this journey 🙂
